Your Opportunity:
As a member of the Rehabilitation Medicine department at the Misericordia Community Hospital (MCH), the Physical Therapist I (PT) is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Areas of practice supported by Physiotherapy at MCH include inpatient general medicine, geriatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, ICU, CCU, and ED. Outpatient programs include general therapeutic interventions, wound clinic, ALS clinic, Healing Connections, and Osteoporosis Program. The PT I assesses physical status of clients, participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care, and provides guidance and indirect supervision to Therapy Assistants and students. Collaborates in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of programs. The PT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience in an adult inpatient acute care setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstration of strong clinical reasoning is required. Experience working within a collaborative interdisciplinary team is required.
