Your Opportunity:

The Physical Therapist I (PTI) is responsible for providing physical therapy services as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Practice areas may include general or internal medicine, surgery, ICU/CCU, emergency, geriatric rehabilitation, acute stroke care and in the emergency department. The PT I may provide outpatient services in the areas of neurology and stroke, plastics, osteoporosis, geriatrics, and general musculoskeletal injuries. You are responsible to coordinate and prioritize your caseload as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide client centered assessments, interventions, and discharge planning. The PT I will be responsible for the delivery of services in accordance with established standards and in alignment with Covenant Health’s mission, vision and values. The Grey Nuns Hospital has a formal mentorship program for the first year of employment to support the development of new staff. New grads are welcome to apply!

Description: The Physical Therapist I (PT) is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The PT assesses physical status of clients, participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care. The PT is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Member in good standing of the general register of Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association. Experience working as a physical therapist in acute care.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with relevant clinical applications (Alberta Netcare Portal, Connect Care).
