Covenant Health’s Capital Planning team is responsible for project delivery across all healthcare sites provincially. This includes capital, equipment and building infrastructure projects. The position reports to the Director Capital Planning and supports the delivery and implementation of projects throughout the project life cycle. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record in providing efficient systematic administration, projects tracking, financial reporting, proposal and contracts writing and effective stakeholder engagement. Please note: Travel is required, and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.

Description:

Reporting to the Director, or Manager as applicable, the Projects & Controls Administrator is responsible and accountable for managing and facilitating the financial and contract management processes. This position tracks, monitors, verifies, and documents all financial aspects for the multiple projects within Covenant Health Capital Planning. The Project Administrator is responsible for developing and managing various database systems, spreadsheets, and presentations required throughout the department, as well as assisting the Project Management Team with the procurement, contractual documentation, financial transactions and ensuring adherence to Covenant Health Policies and Procedures. They would take the lead for all financial and records management, including the maintenance of both electronic and paper files. The Administrator will provide administrative support to the Director for all contractual and financial document management requirements, etc. This is a non-unionized position covering a maternity leave.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in an Accounting/Finance related field. 3-5 years’ experience in a related field. Equivalencies in a combination of other educational background and extensive work experience within a construction finance background may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year experience with expert level competency in the use of an Oracle-based software, MS Office Suite, MS Projects, e-Facilities or similar software. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of Covenant Health internal policies and processes as well as construction practices and processes would be an asset. Minimum 2 years' experience leading communication/working with stakeholders on multiple projects. Expert level competency in computer programs and all related Microsoft Office packages. Ability to travel occasionally and work some weekends (tentatively). Must have valid Alberta driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

6-8 years of related construction financial management experience with preference in hospital or healthcare facility. Minimum typing speed of 70 wpm. Knowledge of construction procurement, Project Management scheduling, principles and processes; as well as accounting and financial reporting systems. Excellent formatting, syntax and proofreading skills. Ability to work independently under pressure, make sound judgment and manage time, workload & deadlines.
