Your Opportunity:

The Program Manager, Rural Acute Care and Continuing Care NFLES is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Nutrition, Food, Linen and Environmental Services teams at 15 rural and/or continuing care sites, in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Directions of Covenant Health (CH). The Program Manager is an integral member of the Integrated Services team and CH site management teams. Reporting to the Senior Director, NFLES, the Program Manager as responsibility for Continuing Care and Rural Health Services’ Food, Linen, and Environmental services. The Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of managers, leads, supervisors at the various continuing care and rural sites within Alberta. The Program Manager establishes the operational framework and infrastructure needed to support program/service delivery and plans, allocates and manages all physical, human, and financial resources including monitoring expenditures and identifying trends and variances. The Program Manager will negotiate service changes, contract extensions, and works to problem solve any delivery or service issues. The Program Manager will work with Site Leaders to implement a strategic plan for the program to ensure collaboration, standardization and enhancement of quality across continuing care and rural CH facilities and work to operationalize the CH mission, vision and values in the delivery of services. A key role of this position is to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with stakeholders including physicians, patient care area leaders, site support services, external providers and union representatives to ensure that any issues impacting the program are identified and addressed.

Description:

Travel is required and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles. Currently, the organization is experiencing an organizational structure redesign to support and align with the new provincial health pillars. This position holds a key accountability in our operational and shared services. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in health related filed; preference for nutrition and food services specialization. Advanced professional designation from a related field preferred. Equivalent education/related experience will be considered. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years progressive health care management experience. Previous experience in the administration of Clinical or Non-Clinical Support Services (i.e. clinical nutrition, food service, environmental service, linen). Applicable experience in acute care and continuing care settings required.
