Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a Perioperative Nursing Certification course or a minimum of two years recent experience (within the last 3 years) operating room experience. Must be able to lift 25lbs and have the physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time (in excess of 30 minutes). Excellent interpersonal/communication skills both spoken and written. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team.
Preferred Qualifications:At least 2 years recent (within the last 3 years) operating room experience. Consideration will be given to those who have completed their final nursing practicum in the Operating Room. Charge or AHN experience. Canadian Nursing Association OR certification. Member of NCORNA/ORNAC. Computer skills including experience with electronic charting. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized and rapid moving environment.
