Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program. Previous experience with the geriatric population. Nursing standards/protocols as required in area of nursing specialty related to job assignment. Basic nursing care procedures. Scope of practice as defined by the college. Certification as may be required within the scope of the position assignment. Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS. Registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Previous Charge Nurse experience. Ability to balance multiple demands and conflicting priorities. Work within a team environment and effectively contribute to the care planning process. Strong communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to meet varying needs. Strong assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to patient/resident/client change in status. Critical thinking skills. Sound judgement. Displays a patient/resident/client service attitude and recognizes the inherent dignity of each individual. Supports a respectful workplace.
