Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have OR experience/training. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both spoken and written. Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. Computer skills including experience with electronic charting and Microsoft Outlook. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and have the physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time (more than 30 minutes). Committed to safe, effective, and ethical patient care and work practices. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment. Ability to participate as an effective member of and lead the interprofessional team. Exercises good judgment in decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years’ operating room experience an asset. Priority will be given to RN with a perioperative course.
