Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years related adult acute care nursing experience. Must be capable of assessing clinical needs and making effective allocation decisions in a very busy clinical environment with numerous interruptions. Must be knowledgeable regarding acute care operations and diverse patient populations. Must be flexible, adaptable and capable of working effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders. Must have the ability to effectively influence decision making without direct authority. Must be proficient working in a fully computerized environment including Connect Care. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting or standing and repetitive movements involving fine motor muscles required for computer-based charging and work tasks (5-8 hrs. daily). Must be able to tolerate walking for up to 3 hrs. daily. Ability to complete physical nursing assessment s and hands on care as required, including bending, and overhead reaching. Must be able to wear a properly fitted N95 mask when required.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with experience working in Emergency, Critical Care, or Medicine Programs are preferred. Candidates with AHN/Charge experience preferred.
