Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of five (5) years current ambulatory nursing experience. Insulin pump certified. Three (3) years of recognized and current diabetes education experience required. Connect Care training.
Preferred Qualifications:Member of the Canadian Diabetes Association (Educators Section) preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator preferred. Adult Education Course completion desired. Proven competency in preparation of teaching materials for presentation with groups and individuals. Must show superior demonstration, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in performing physical and psychological assessments. Experience with insulin pumps preferred.
