Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent Emergency Department or ICU/CCU experience within the past two years OR A minimum of three years (full-time equivalent) experience in Medical, Surgical, or Labor and Delivery units within the past five years. Excellent assessment, organization and documentation skills required. Strong interpersonal communication, stress management and conflict management skills. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to identify own learning needs, seek guidance in professional practice when deficits occur and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Urban Emergency Department experience. Triage and ED charge nurse experience preferred. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: CTAS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and completion of ENPEP Modules. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECG’s preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR asset; Emergency Connect Care ASAP preferred.
