Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Qualifications:The registered nurse (RN) provides safe patient care of patients diagnosed with a terminal illness. This is an interdiscipinary active treatment unit for people who have complex physical and psycho-social problems requiring intensive management. Family members of the patients are considered to be part of our unit of care and they too require intensive support. Recent experience in a Tertiary Level Palliative Care unit required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required. Annual influenza vaccination required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent acute medicine experience preferred. Current IV certification preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred.
