Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of five years facility based nursing experience including geriatric experience (obtained within the last three years) is required. Minimum of five (5) years current acute care nursing experience specifically including adult/geriatric patient populations required. Minimum of two years of experience within the community is required. Minimum of one (1) year Charge Nurse Experience required. Experience in home care, supportive living or facility living is required. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Proven conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Must be able to work independently and within a complex interdisciplinary team required. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Ability to problem-solve and critical thinking skills are required. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive assessments to individuals within their physical and social environments is required. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (ie: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking)

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Pathways, RAI Tools, Meditech and e-People is preferred and an asset. Previous Transition Coordinator experience preferred. Community experience - Home Living, Supportive Living and Facility Living preferred. Computer proficiency including Microsoft office tools is preferred. Working knowledge of MedWorxx, PathWays and MediTech preferred.
