Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0 PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 of the posting end date but may be filled earlier if a Regular Employee who holds a position within this unit/program/office expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 on the 5th calendar day following the posting date, under LOU #25. Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year Charge/Triage Nurse experience is required. Three years of acute care nursing experience, within the last five years, specifically in adult/geriatric patient populations within Medicine, Surgery, Critical care and/or ER, required. Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills are required. Proven conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive assessments to individuals within their physical and social environments is required. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (ie: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, and walking).

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of two years’ experience within the community is preferred (Home Living and/or Continuing Care). Previous Transition Coordinator experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Pathways, RAI Tools, Meditech and e-People is preferred and an asset.
