Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have 3 years recent acute care and/or community nursing experience. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to lift and carry 10-30 kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (i.e.: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances). Client assessments also include physically supporting the clients, including Bariatric, through such activities as transferring, balance and mobility assessments, donning clothing items, skin assessments, etc. Handling, moving and lifting heavy, awkward or oversized equipment and / or clients. Work tasks and charting is computer based so there are extensive repetitive motion tasks and eye strain. Must be able to cope with high levels of potentially negative stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in critical care, home care, supportive living, or facility living is an asset. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, Pathways, RAI Tools, Meditech, Medworxx, VAX, and e-People is preferred and an asset.
