Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a RN or RPN program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the CRPNA and/or CRNA required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. If you have not practiced as a RN/RPN within the last 5 years, completion of the following free courses are also required: 1) CRNA Medication Administration Certificate - https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F 2) NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification - https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two years of Addictions and/or Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. 2 years' experience in emergency or acute in-patient unit. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and/or Mental Health site or emergency may be considered. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Understanding of CIWA and COWS/management of acute substance withdrawal. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, VAST, Domestic Violence screening. Duration of position subject to operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Connect Care trained.
