Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Minimum three years as a practicing Respiratory Therapist required. Strong clinical background and experience in an acute care teaching hospital required. Computer experience required. Knowledge and understanding of POCT, Accreditation Standards, Health Professions Act, CARTA Standards of Practice, Code of Conduct/Ethics and FOIP required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience/courses preferred. Instructional experience in adult education preferred. Post-secondary training, education, conferences preferred. Be-lite, Hand hygiene auditor, Trec and Trac training preferred. Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), arterial line insertion, Medfusion pumps preferred.
