Required Qualifications:

Degree (Risk Management, Insurance or Business) or a recognized Risk Management, Insurance or Business diploma required. Minimum 2 years of experience in an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) setting, insurance setting or internal audit is required. Occasional travel to other Covenant Health, Covenant Care and Covenant Living sites within the Province may be required.


Additional Qualifications:

Thorough working knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Visio) is required. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills are required. Knowledge of ERM professional standards and the application of associated risk management frameworks, standards and practices. Ability to handle inquiries and assignments with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is required. Ability to work within a team–oriented approach to tasks and to communicate with all levels of staff is required. Ability to distinguish independent decisions from decisions that should be referred upward is essential. Ability to balance attention to detail with the big picture perspective. Analytical reasoning and problem solving skills is required. Ability to work with interruptions. Ability to interact with individuals from varying disciplines and with different skill levels. Ability to function in an environment of complexity and change. Ability to manage several issues or priorities at once. Ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy. Ability to communicate the importance of ERM within the context of Covenant Health’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in health care sector is desired. Experience in medium to large organization is desired. Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is desired.
