Under the direction of the Program Manager of Emergency, this position provides administrative and program support to the Emergency Department including Program Manager, Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and Emergency Department staff. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Attendance Management Support. Business Correspondence. Calendar Management. Event Planning. Fiscal Management. Information Management. Meeting Support. Occupational Health & Safety and Emergency Disaster Management. Onboarding and Orientation. Performance Management Support. Position Management Support. Program Support and Quality Activities. Description:

The Secretary II provides advanced level administrative support. The Secretary II performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a post-secondary certificate in Medical Office Administration (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years of directly related experience. Minimum 60 WPM typing speed with a high level of accuracy. Proficiency in spelling, punctuation and grammar. Detail orientated. Self-driven and independent. Ability to adapt to competing demands, unpredictable workload changes and deadlines. Sound decision making, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to deal with all levels of staff professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minute taking and dictation experience. Knowledge of the Covenant Health and Emergency Department information systems and web-based applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, SharePoint). CLiC. Connect Care. ESP. eFacilities. Markview. Oracle. iProcurement. Grand & Toy. Datagroup/Westkey Graphics. Recruitment Management System. Directly related hospital experience. Directly related experience in an Emergency Department.
