Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Operative Services Program Manager, the Secretary provides administrative support to the Operative Services program at Misericordia Community Hospital, including the operating room and related perioperative services. This role supports daily operations, program planning, and communication among leadership, staff, physicians, and other departments. Responsibilities include coordinating calendars, meetings, interviews, and program activities; preparing agendas, minutes, correspondence, presentations, schedules, and reports; and maintaining organized program records. A significant part of the role is collecting, entering, tracking, and reporting operational data. This includes maintaining spreadsheets and tracking tools, checking data for completeness and accuracy, preparing regular and ad hoc reports, and helping leadership monitor activity, staffing, access, and other program measures. The Secretary also supports recruitment and onboarding processes, staff education, and follow-up on program priorities. The successful candidate will be highly organized, skilled with technology and Microsoft Office Suite, able to manage competing deadlines, and comfortable handling confidential staff and operational information with discretion. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a related post-secondary certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of a course in Medical Terminology. Proficiency using MS Office Suite. Ability to learn new computer applications and work with multiple sources of information. Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail. Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy office, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years of related administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Experience maintaining operational data, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and supporting recruitment or staff scheduling. Familiarity with perioperative services is an asset.
