Your Opportunity:
The Seniors Stores Attendant oversees day to day operations of the Misericordia Community Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Endoscopy and Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) areas in a busy, fast paced environment. This individual works collaboratively with staff of the MCH Operating Room, Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Endoscopy and MDRD to maintain supply chain operations that are congruent with the Contracting, Procurement & Supply Management office. This individual reports to the Supply Chain Coordinator. Senior Stores Attendant also works collaboratively with the management staff of the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Endoscopy. This position is responsible for customer service and supply distribution activities that include ordering, receiving, maintenance of warehouse and top-up cart inventories, tracking of all transactions, monitoring quotas, facilitating repairs and loaner equipment, ensuring that supplies are available for optimum patient care. Duties include frequent use of ordering systems (Oracle), EPIC / Connect Care, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Verbal and written communication skills necessary. This position is also responsible for maintaining inventory of non-electrical equipment, facility tracking of capital equipment purchases and liaison with Bio-med, CPSM, Facility, Maintenance & Engineering staff and Vendors as required. Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Inventory Management: Understanding purchasing, inventory control, accounting processes, and medical terminology. Technical Skills: Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and online systems. Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role by standing the majority of shift, pushing, pulling, lifting 30lbs, bending, kneeling, twisting and squatting. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing constant interruptions and shifting workloads. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely. Capable of taking direction from multiple stakeholders and seeking clarification when needed. Work Ethic: Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:Three years in an operating room setting in Supply Chain related activities. Familiarity with surgical instruments and supplies in orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, plastics, and urology. Basic understanding of medical terminology. Proficiency in the Oracle system and EPIC/Connect Care. Adaptable to changing needs and proactive in seeking improvements. Ability to thrive in a high-demand environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
