Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Social Work program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of recent related experience in both mental health and geriatric services. Strong knowledge and understanding of community integration and resources found in the Edmonton zone. Knowledge of relevant Mental Health Act and relevant Senior’s legislation. Knowledge of challenges in providing supports with limited resources. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to participate in sensitive and challenging patient situations and diverse situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well in a team and seek consultation when necessary must be demonstrated. Advanced knowledge and skill in the areas of evidence-based assessment and treatment of mental illness is required. Critical thinking skills, working knowledge on the management of concurrent disorders and medical co-morbidities, and the principles of chronic disease management and recovery are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of concurrent disorders, and mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset. An excellent attendance record and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references. Strong knowledge of Alternative Level of Care, Goals of Care and Continuing care is an asset.
