Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, HR Business Support & System Solutions, the Specialist will work with a high degree of independence to provide process, forms and systems support to internal and external stakeholders/clients for e-People, Recruitment Management System (RMS) and e-Records. Travel is required, and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.

Description:

This position is responsible for researching and investigating issues, providing recommendations for resolution and, where required, assisting with the completion of the recommendations. Working with stakeholders, the Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of all e-People/RMS related documentation and training materials. They will provide training/support over the phone through Lync/Skype, via instructor led sessions, one-on-one, and/or virtual classrooms. The Specialist will perform regular and ad hoc audits and reporting as per the applicable policy or collective agreement and will provide support to various projects and initiatives as they relate to e-People/RMS or by request from the organization. This position will review, interpret and determine eligibility for various employee or manager initiated requests for recognition of previous experience, portability, educational allowance, etc. and draft offer letters for all hires and transfers. The Specialist must be knowledgeable about the complete life cycle of an employee and understand the integration points between the various areas including recruitment, human resources, benefits, pension, time & labour & payroll. Must to be able to travel to and work between Covenant and Alberta Health Services sites with occasional out of city travel.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Three (3) to five (5) years human resource experience including report generation, data analysis and collective agreement interpretation. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft and the Recruitment Management System. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in a co-operative, respectful, and sensitive manner.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to translate, explain & document complex information or system functionality into simple and effective training programs and materials. Demonstrated group presentation and group facilitation skills. Working knowledge of Covenant Health Mission, Vision and Value, systems, policies and processes, and general office policies and procedures. Knowledge of collective agreements and related legislation (e.g., Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP)). Demonstrated excellence in customer service. Demonstrated ability to handle issues and concerns while maintaining discretion, diplomacy and tact. Ability to maintain composure while dealing with frustrated/upset employees and managers and ensuring their issues are resolved within tight deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, exercise sound judgement, and be extremely flexible in managing multiple interruptions as well as variable and unpredictable situations. Strong commitment to work collaboratively. Strong attention to detail focusing on being thorough and accurate. Excellent detailed analytical and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of advanced training/certification in Adult Education Chartered Professional in Human Resource (CPHR) designation and membership with CPHR Alberta. Healthcare experience.
