Your Opportunity:
As a member of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, the Speech Language Pathologist II (SLP) will provide specialized care for infants experiencing feeding and swallowing difficulties in the Post-Partum and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) at both Grey Nuns Community Hospital and Misericordia Community Hospital. This multi-site position is based out of GNH and supports Post-Partum and NICU services across both facilities. The SLP delivers clinical professional practice both independently and as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. The SLP is responsible for direct and indirect therapeutic care, including development of individualized feeding plans, caregiver education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The SLP provides assessment, consultation, treatment, and health promotion information for infants and their families/caregivers. The role also includes contributing to staff education, student supervision, and quality improvement initiatives. The SLP collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, policies, and standards, and performs other duties as required to support the ongoing enhancement of Post-Partum and NICU feeding services across both sites. In addition to Post-Partum NICU responsibilities, the SLP in this position may also be required to assist with adult inpatient caseloads at both sites as needed. This includes providing care for patients experiencing dysphagia and/or communication difficulties across various program areas such as Emergency, ICU/CCU, Medicine, Surgery, Stroke, Vascular, and Mental Health units.

Required Qualifications: Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Member in good standing of the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists required.

Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience as SLP providing care in Level III NICU.
