Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent required. Valid First Aid Certificate and Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Required to be in good physical condition and provide proof of successful completion of Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) Must possess a valid operator's license and provide a clear criminal records check for which a pardon has not been granted, and have no charges pending before the courts. Must be eligible to be appointed as a CPO I with the Solicitor General Public Security Peace Officer Program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Good Computer skills, in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment required. Possess good investigation report writing skills required. Familiarity with Canadian Law required.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years post-secondary education in Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Preferred. Certificate in Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred. Two years related security/law enforcement experience preferred. Experience in a health care environment preferred. Superior demonstration of communications and interpersonal skills preferred. Effective handling of stress, conflict/negotiation skills preferred. Ability to function in a team and individual environment preferred.
