Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Supervisor Site Services, this position is responsible for creating replenishment orders for end user supply cart locations utilizing hand held computer, ensures units are supplied inventory by means of top-up replenishment module or direct order as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining end user supply cart and maintenance of cart inventory integrity. This position is responsible for receiving and verification of inbound orders from the Regional Warehouse as well as the receipt and distribution of material and equipment from vendors; Coordinating/processing outgoing shipments; providing coordination between the end user and AHS Contracting Procurement Supply Management (CPSM). This will directly involve receiving, verifying and accepting or rejecting all suppliers and equipment delivered to the Hospital. Common functions will include data entry and organization utilizing a variety of computer software programs such as Oracle, MS Outlook, MS Excel & MS Word. This position is responsible for maintaining auditable records in a timely manner; for maintaining a clean safe and organized work environment utilizing good storage techniques and proper handing procedure to ensure the integrity of the product: for activity contributing to a safe and productive and productive team working environment as well as participating in the training/orientation of new staff. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the decanting, receiving, packing and shipping of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with Covenant and AHS CPSM guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders. Please note: Classifications Under Review.

The Stores Attendant performs a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of materials, supplies and equipment. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be available to provide full time relief coverage Sunday to Friday including statutory holidays between the hours of 06:30 to 15:30. Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking and have good comprehension of the English language. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275kg. Must be capable of walking and standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift and carry heavy items up to 25kg. Must be competent in a computerized environment utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word. Current relevant inventory management experience and or education. Ability to demonstrate mathematical competency in relation to costing, weights, unit of measure and metric conversions. Must be capable of understanding and accurately following complex and detailed instructions, possess high standards of accuracy, be detailed oriented requiring minimal supervision and possess strong interpersonal/customer service skills. Must be able to work safely and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Grade 12 or recognized equivalent required. Post-secondary education in a logistic related field an asset. Two (2) years’ experience in warehousing or hospital stores operation preferred. Experience utilizing both powered and manual material handling equipment such motorized and hydraulic pallet lifts. Knowledge of and experience working with a computerized Materiel Management System such as Oracle and barcode Scanners.
