Your Opportunity:
As an out of scope Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and staff development. Excellent skills in leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, facilitating group decision making, planning, prioritizing and organizing workload. Understanding of urban and rural health processes, goals and objectives and the ability to implement these processes. Other duties may include special projects in relation to inventory of equipment. Travel to Rural Covenant Health Sites providing expertise on SOPS and Quality Assurance, as well as Education for Urban and Rural Sites.
Description:
Directly reporting to Manager of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the leadership and operations of the MDRD. The position includes mission focused leading, assisting in operational planning; program development and evaluation; management of human resources and service delivery that is patient focused, and meeting the needs of all customers. Responsibilities include monitoring activities in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution of supplies, adhering to the CSA Group Standards and Alberta Health Guidelines and identifying learning needs of staff. This position is non-unionized.

Minimum five (5) years recent clinical experience in a Medical Device Reprocessing Department, Excellent skills in leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, facilitating group decision making, planning, prioritizing and organizing workload. Understanding of urban and rural health processes, goals and objectives and the ability to implement these processes. Grade XII diploma required. Successful completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Program. Canadian Standards CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of SPM. Ability to work outside of regular hours if required. Physical ability to stand and walk continuously, lift and push heavy items. Exposure to variety of noise, environmental conditions, bio hazardous materials a possibility.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent skills in leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, staff motivation and change management. Skills in facilitating group decision making, planning, organizing and prioritizing workload. Clinical understanding of program functionality. Computer literacy and skills.
