Your Opportunity:
In keeping with Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision and Values, the Supervisor, Protective Services reports to the Manager, Protective Services and has a high level of contributory responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of Covenant Health personnel, clients, visitors and assets at Covenant Health properties and facilities through a wide variety of activities.
Description:
The Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of security plans and practices for designated sites and the management of all protection personnel on site. As the leader of Protective Services on site the Supervisor works with all leaders and departments in the facilities and contributes to a wide array of committees. The Supervisor develops and maintains internal and external relationships, implements site processes, standards, policies, procedures and practices for the Protective Services department and supervises Peace Officers. The Supervisor uses their experience and knowledge of legal issues and precedence, protection and investigation techniques to conduct and manage investigations that may have significant financial, risk or reputation impact on the organization in a complex environment. The Supervisor utilizes their experience and knowledge of protection theory along with a high degree of technical skill in conducting process, department, and facility reviews to provide valuable recommendations that enhance the protection of persons and assets while reducing risk and liability exposures for Covenant Health.

Minimum 5 years law enforcement or directly related experience required. Experience in investigations, evidence handling and court proceedings required. 3-5 years experience in supervision or management of personnel required. Minimum 2 years post-secondary education related to Policing/Security or equivalent experience required
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must be eligible for appointment as a Community Peace Officer Level 1 or currently hold a Community Peace Officer Level 1 appointment from the Justice and Solicitor General Office of Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in policy and process development preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel Experience with Perspective software preferred. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design training preferred.
