Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering, the Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates the day-to-day activities of trades and maintenance staff of multiple Covenant Health facilities. The Supervisor supports construction projects and in-house upgrades, collaborating with other departmental staff as needed. Additionally, the Supervisor ensures compliance with safety regulations and promotes a safe working environment. Travel is required and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles. This position is non-unionized.

Minimum five years of recent facility operations / maintenance experience required. Minimum three years of team leadership experience is required. Must possess solid leadership and management abilities. Leadership experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset. Formal leadership training would be considered an asset. Previous or current healthcare facility maintenance experience would be considered an asset. Certified Facility Manager or an equivalent designation would be considered an asset. Infrastructure-related project management experience would be considered an asset. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Required Qualifications:
One or more of the following is required: Engineering degree with specialization in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar. Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Technology or similar. Journeyman Certification in a relevant Building Trade. Power Engineering Certificate (ABSA registered). Equivalencies will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams. Strong project coordination skills. Experience working with external design consultants and construction contractors. Working knowledge of relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures. Experience with effective budget management. Knowledge and background in computers and computer applications in maintenance management/construction environment. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
