Reporting to the Manager, NFLES, you will help ensure consistent delivery of safe, high-quality services across Food Services, Environmental Services, Laundry and related support areas. You will lead day-to-day operations and support hiring, orientation, scheduling, coaching and employee development. Working closely with Hospitality team members, site staff, patients/residents, families and suppliers, you will help create a positive service experience and responsive, well-coordinated operations. Description:
In keeping with Covenant Health’s Mission and Values and as an integral member of the NFLES team, the Supervisor organizes and supervises activities that support quality Hospitality services for patients/residents and customers. The Supervisor leads recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management in accordance with Covenant Health policies and collective agreements. The role oversees scheduling, attendance, payroll and staff replacements while ensuring compliance with safety requirements, operational standards and applicable legislation. In collaboration with Human Resources, the Supervisor promotes a safe, efficient and respectful workplace. The Supervisor monitors service quality through audits, surveys and other improvement tools and develops action plans to address opportunities. The role maintains effective communication with staff, patients, residents and families to coordinate operational activities and respond to service needs. You will organize, analyze and report financial information to support effective resource management and maintain expertise in food service management, food production, environmental services, laundry processing and related Hospitality services. You will ensure frontline staff receive required education and training, both online and in person, and support consistent service delivery. In this frontline supervisory role, you will use critical thinking, sound decision-making and strong communication skills to positively impact the quality, safety and comfort of those we serve. This position is non-unionized.

Completion of a two-year Food Service Management course or equivalent management training. Minimum two years of recent experience in a supervisory capacity. Minimum three years’ experience of related health care experience. Current Food Safe certificate. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience with employee scheduling, customer satisfaction surveys and quality audits. Experience providing customer service and managing customer relations. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing competing priorities. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build and contribute to effective teams, exercise sound and objective judgment, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated dependability, accountability and commitment to safe, effective and ethical work practices. Commitment to Covenant Health Mission and Values.
Preferred Qualifications:
WHMIS certificate. Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications and staff scheduling systems. Working knowledge of collective agreements, dietary guidelines and food service terminology. Ability to adapt leadership style to the situation.
