Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Maintenance and Engineering (FM&E), the Supervisor, FM&E is an integral member of the Covenant Health Capital Management Team and is accountable for the operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.

Formal Education: 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate required. Journeyman Trade Certification desired. Engineering Technology Certificate desired. Experience: 3 years of progressive institutional facilities management required; Or 3 years of related supervisory responsibility required. 3 years of project management/coordination experience required. Special Knowledge/Skills: Extensive building and construction knowledge required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. License(s)/Certification(s): Journeyman Trade Certificate, if applicable. Professional/Technical Designation: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) if applicable. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) if applicable.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license to travel and work on many Covenant Health sites and must be willing to be on 24 hour call on a rotating basis and be available to return to rural Covenant Health sites in response to emergency situations. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Covenant Health currently has a Northern Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over.
