Required Qualifications:

Formal Education: Diploma from a recognized institution in a health related field or business administration with minimum 2 years related experience using scheduling systems in a 24 hour service environment required. Experience: Three (3) years previous supervisory, managerial experience, preferably in health care. Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in a health care setting. Previous experience with staff scheduling provisions and payroll is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge and experience using, interpreting and complying with applicable collective agreement provisions required. Previous scheduling experience using ESP or an equivalent system is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills required. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Able to exercise strong leadership and sound decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work as a team member. Able to demonstrate strong team building skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to demonstrate professional, courteous and prompt customer service. Demonstrated ability to follow-through on issues, actions, plans and decisions in a timely manner. Must be flexible and able to deal with stress and short timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders and have excellent self-management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required. The successful candidate will be able to negotiate, plan and evaluate and must understand what Continuous Quality improvement means and how that is reflected in the Central Staffing Office.
