Description:
The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members and members of interdisciplinary team. Professional phone etiquette. Ability to prioritize tasks. Process service tasks and order supplies. Contribute to organization and overall functioning of the Unit. Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training and knowledge an asset. Familiarity with the Mental Health Act. Passion for and/or experience working in mental health and addictions hospital setting.
