Description:

The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component.  A course in Medical Terminology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including but not limited to, walking, bending, lifting, standing, and sitting for extended periods (ability to lift up to 25lbs). Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Unit Clerk Certificate or Diploma is preferred. Recent Continuing Care experience. Connect Care experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
