Your Opportunity:
Unit 41 is an integral part of the Northern Alberta Vascular Centre (NAVC) is based at the Grey Nuns Hospital under the auspices of Covenant Health. Nurses can expect to work with surgery patients with complex medical needs. NAVC provides vascular surgery and interventions for Northern Alberta, Northern B.C., Saskatchewan and the Territories; a catchment area of approximately 2.3 million people. Description:
The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:High school diploma. Related post-secondary certificate. Successful completion of medical terminology course. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office. Minimum 35 WPM typing ability. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, thrive in a fast paced, noisy and demanding environment. Proven understanding of medical tests including diagnostic imagining, medical procedures and surgical operations. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, occasionally walk short distances, lift up to 5kg. Ability to spend majority of time in front of computer. Working knowledge of eFacilities, supply procurement, ePeople, Kronos, Netcare, Connect Care.
