Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical / surgical acute care setting – or equivalencies will be considered, such as a recent satisfactory completion of an acute care practicum in surgery. Certification from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. Successful completion of medical terminology course. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Minimum 35 WPM typing ability. Proven understanding of medical tests including diagnostic imagining, medical procedures and surgical operations. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, occasionally walk short distances, lift up to 5 kg (8-11 pounds). Ability to spend majority of time in front of computer. Working knowledge of eFacilities, Oracle, supply procurement, ePeople, WFM, NetCARE, Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of one (1 year) experience in a surgical acute care setting.
