Your Opportunity:

The Unit Clerk is responsible for assembling patient charts and transcribing Physician's orders to appropriate sources. This position is also responsible for performing reception duties, such as; word processing /typing routine information; scheduling patient tests/treatments and arranging necessary transportation; maintaining departmental and other files; ordering office supplies and/or equipment repairs; participating in training and orienting other personnel in computer usage; completing time sheets or inputting employee data; and performing other related duties as required. The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component.  A course in Medical Terminology is required.  Must have at least two to three years directly related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Unit Clerk certificate required. One year related experience in a hospital environment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

One to two years directly related experience is preferred.
