This leadership opportunity reports to the Site Administrator and will allow you to use your nursing, clinical and management experience to lead inpatient and emergency units in an active rural hospital. As the Unit Manager you will use sound judgement, initiative, critical thinking and creativity to ensure your team provides excellent care to the people of Vegreville and area. This position promotes an environment that maximizes patient dignity, independence, privacy, freedom of choice and decision making. It models and promotes collaborative interdisciplinary team functioning in the planning and delivery of patient focused, holistic care and ensures assessment, planning and evaluation of patient care occurs as per program guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years related experience in clinical practice required. Previous experience in acute and/or emergency required. Current active registration with CARNA or recognized professional body.

Proven clinical and leadership skills. Superior organizational skills. Evidence of strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Evidence of initiative, flexibility and creativity. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, community agencies, professional colleagues, volunteers and the community. Evidence of strong commitment to excellence in patient care. Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered. Previous management experience preferred.
