Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a recognized Registered Nursing program required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses (CARNA). Current Heart and Stroke Foundation B.L.S. Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years recent, relevant nursing experience required. Demonstrated progressive professional development including minimum 2 years of Charge Nurse, Assistant Head Nurse or Clinic Development Nurse experience. Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and Accreditation Canada standards. Active membership in working groups and/or councils – demonstrated ability to be and effective and collaborative a team member. A proven ability to lead team through change. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Proven dependability and accountability. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience. Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and conflict resolution skills. Ability to be objective in decision making. Commitment to safe, effective and ethical patient care and work practices.
