Covenant Health is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Budgeting Advisor to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Systems Manager, this position will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the budgeting system, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and supporting various financial system updates. As a key member of the team, the Budgeting Advisor will collaborate with Finance, IT, and management teams to enhance budgeting processes and improve financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring financial systems remain accurate, effective, and aligned with organizational goals while supporting continuous system improvements.

Description:

The Budgeting Advisor will be responsible for managing and optimizing Covenant Health’s budgeting and financial systems, with a primary focus on the Oracle Hyperion system. A key responsibility of this role is overseeing internal budget controls by tracking, reconciling, and reporting approved changes in Hyperion. The Advisor will also ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of our financial systems by conducting regular audits across various financial platforms and facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades and enhancements. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Advisor will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and management, to resolve system issues and implement improvements that enhance financial systems. In addition, the Advisor will document business processes, identify opportunities for improving data management and financial reporting, and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements. Training and supporting Finance staff on financial system procedures will also be a key aspect of this role to ensure seamless operations. The Advisor will maintain strong working relationships across departments, driving continuous improvement in the management and optimization of financial systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in system administration, and a background in budgeting and financial reporting, with a focus on process improvement and training. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about optimizing financial systems while maintaining data integrity and transparency across the company’s financial platforms. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in Finance/ Accounting/ Computer Sciences or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience specialized in Hyperion, PowerBI or data analytics may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years of working experience in finance, data analytics, or a related field. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in data analysis and financial reporting tools. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to system management. Strong understanding of financial principles, budget management, and accounting processes. Proficient in MS Access, Excel, and Word. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to handle highly confidential/sensitive issues tactfully and diplomatically. Critical thinking and judgment must be used often while dealing with complex or unusual problems and issues, in addition to decisions requiring changes to established policies, regulations or processes. Flexibility to accommodate competing and changing workload demands. An analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare is an asset. Familiarity with budgeting processes and internal controls is highly desirable. Experience with Data Relationship Management (DRM), Hyperion and/or Microsoft PowerBI is an asset.
