Your Opportunity:

HIRM clerks works independently and maintains the integrity of the Health Record (paper and electronic) in collaboration with hospital staff and medical affairs. Performs variety of clerical duties related to deficiency management, record location and retrieval, scanning and validation of records, quality control of scanned documents, release of information requests, sending charts for storage, assisting the public with inquires, answering telephones and other related duties. Must be able to exercise good judgement and initiative in completing tasks and be able to work with a high degree of independence, confidentiality and accountability. Description:

The Clerk III provides a wide range of clerical support, with varying duties depending on the specified program/department. The Clerk III performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized medical terminology class. Keyboarding 40 wpm. Ability to use computerized equipment and applications accurately and productively. e-Health Competence (keyboarding, confidentiality, privacy and security).

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk Certificates. Experience in working in a Health Records department.
