Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Affairs, the Physician Workforce Assistant is the primary liaison for medical staff privileging at Covenant Health. The PWA engages with medical leadership and appointed medical staff in providing privileging to incumbents in relation to Covenant Health services and facilities. PWA's participate in recruitment activities, database management, reporting and medical leadership support. This role builds relationships with Covenant Health medical staff and key stakeholders to support the delivery of medical staff care in accordance with Covenant Health Mission, Vision and Values. The successful candidate will: Have excellent communication skills with proven ability to articulate information clearly and concisely. Be a highly adaptable and resourceful individual with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Will have a proven ability to be a front-facing representative of Medical Affairs. Have training/experience working with policies and bylaws. Experience analyzing detailed reports for data-based decisions. To note: the primary location of this position has been moved to the Edmonton General Hospital Campus. Required Qualifications: A related post-secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:2 to 5 years of experience. Aptitude for comprehending Medical Bylaws and applicable corresponding policies. Excellent Computer software skills (MS Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and SharePoint) for creating, editing, formatting, documenting, recording and reporting information. Experience with online and physical record management. Self-directed and motivated with ability to work with continuous interruptions in an environment of complexity and change, under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and manage occasional conflicts within the context of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary diploma or degree (business administration related). Prior physician privileging experience. Previous working with physicians in an administrative capacity. Knowledge of hospital and health organizational structure.
