Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years acute care experience; additional 5 years progressive leadership experience that includes complex problem solving with broad stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge of concern related legislation/acts such as the Protection of Persons in Care, Personal Directives, Mental Health, Resident and Family Councils, Health Information and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy. Comprehensive knowledge of patient care, programs and service delivery, and organizational structures. Demonstrated ability to apply ethical frameworks for problem resolution. Understanding of risk management and patient safety principles and practices. Ability to communicate effectively in a cooperative, respectful and sensitive manner with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and roles, including physicians, senior leaders and AHS and government counterparts. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and group facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to handle concerns and investigations containing significant clinical, procedural, technical and ethical dimensions while maintaining discretion, diplomacy and tact, with impartiality and objectivity.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in the management of clinical and program operations. Knowledge of quality improvement theories and current practices. Working knowledge of NetCare/RLS/VAX/EPIC applications are also assets. Understanding and commitment to Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision and Values. Clinical and/or patient education experience, i.e., in needs analysis, development and implementation of in-service education. Strong commitment to participation within a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated excellence in customer service and commitment to quality health care. Demonstrable knowledge of concerns management theories, principles, practices and processes. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the web-based interfaces. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, listening skills. License(s)/Certification(s): Active license and registration with the appropriate provincial licensing body, required (i.e. CRNA, ACSW, etc.). Professional Technical Designation: Active membership with the appropriate provincial licensing body, required (i.e. CRNA, ACSW, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and effectively manage varied and unpredictable situations.
