Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Analytics Services, this role provides strategic analytics, performance measurement, evaluation, and decision-support services across Covenant Health's clinical, operational, and corporate portfolios. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with senior leaders, clinicians, and corporate partners to identify opportunities, evaluate outcomes, monitor organizational performance, and develop evidence-informed recommendations that support Covenant Health's strategic priorities. Description:

The Consultant, Strategic Analytics is responsible for supporting planning, performance measurement, evaluation and organizational reporting activities across Covenant Health. Key responsibilities include: supporting the development of strategic and operational plans through environmental scanning, research, evidence synthesis and analytical recommendations; developing and maintaining performance measurement frameworks and processes; monitoring organizational, sector and health-system performance trends and identifying risks; preparing executive-level reports, presentations and performance dashboards; conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to support strategic and operational decision-making; leading or supporting evaluations of programs, services and strategic initiatives; conducting jurisdictional and literature reviews to inform policy, planning and strategy development; translating complex information into actionable insights and recommendations for diverse stakeholder groups; leveraging AI and advanced analytics tools to enhance decision support while ensuring appropriate oversight and validation; collaborating with stakeholders to define information needs and support evidence-informed decision-making; supporting the adoption of leading practices, methodologies and standards related to analytics, evaluation, reporting and organizational performance; and promoting responsible use of data, analytics, artificial intelligence and evidence-based decision-making across the organization. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Data Analytics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Social Sciences or a related discipline. Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience within the Alberta healthcare environment in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, healthcare analytics, performance measurement, program evaluation, health services research, decision support and system planning. One year of directly related experience may replace one year of required education, and one year of relevant education may replace one year of required experience.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated systems-thinking approach with the ability to understand complex organizational and healthcare system interdependencies. Demonstrated experience conducting and interpreting quantitative and qualitative analyses. Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership and executive audiences. Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations. Experience developing performance measures, indicators, scorecards, dashboards or evaluation frameworks. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills across different levels within the organization. Strong organizational awareness, political acuity and judgment when addressing sensitive issues. Demonstrated initiative, adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and modern analytics tools.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Data Analytics, Statistics, Epidemiology or related discipline. Experience using advanced analytics, business intelligence or AI-enabled tools. Experience working with provincial and national healthcare datasets (e.g. CIHI, Statistics Canada and Government of Alberta data sources). Knowledge of emerging AI technologies and their application within a healthcare environment.
