As a casual Cooks Assistant at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, you can take shifts around your schedule, allowing you the freedom to set your own work-life balance. We are seeking individuals that can work at least one shift a week from 0645-1500 Monday to Friday. The nutrition food services department in this multi-service facility makes a difference every day in the lives of over 40 patients and long-term care residents by preparing and serving high quality from scratch meals with excellent customer service. As an integral member of the Nutrition and Food Services team, the Cooks Assistant follows Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values, is responsible for the preparation of a variety of foods and/or food ingredients using standardized recipes and straight forward cooking techniques. The Cooks Assistant receives, stores, and rotates food and supplies, practicing good storage procedures. The Cooks Assistant can work on his or her own and in a team environment. The Cooks Assistant interacts compassionately and respectfully with patients, residents, co-workers, supervisors and managers. Please note: Classifications Under Review.

Description:

Description: The Cooks Assistant will do all fruit and vegetable prep according to the prep sheets, the menu, departmental requirements and product availability. They will also portion patient/resident and staff desserts, operate and clean equipment, participate in receiving, storage of grocery and produce items, handle cash transactions, wash pots and cooking utensils in an ongoing manner, do scheduled daily and weekly cleaning and sanitizing work area and perform other related duties as required. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.
