Our Nutrition & Food Services team supports over 40 patients and long-term care residents by preparing and serving high-quality, from-scratch meals with care and compassion. Your Role: As a Food Service Worker I, you will: Prepare simple food items (snacks, smoothies, thickened fluids). Assemble, deliver, and collect patient/resident meal trays. Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and safety standards. Communicate diet information from care unit printed reports Stock and monitor supplies. Support cash handling as needed. Maintain a clean, safe work environment and wash dishes. What You Bring: Customer service experience (hospitality or food service preferred). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Description: The Food Service Worker portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting. The position is also responsible for washing and putting away dishes and cleaning kitchen and surfaces throughout the kitchen. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write, speak and understand English-applicants may be requested to complete a literacy test. Competent computer skills as a good portion of training, education, scheduling and payroll applications are on-line. Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. Preferred Qualifications:Previous food service experience in a care facility or institutional food service setting, desired. Previous food service experience in a restaurant/cafeteria setting or customer service experience may be considered desirable in combination with other qualifications. WHMIS Certificate, desired. Food Safe Certificate, desired. Customer Service coursework, desired.
