Your Opportunity:

This is your opportunity to join the Covenant Health space planning and furnishings team. We are looking for team members to lead and manage space planning activities for a range of Covenant Health sites both clinical and corporate, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and regulatory requirements. This role supports teams to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and future-proof healthcare & office environments, working closely with clinical, internal, and external stakeholders. Analyzing spaces to ensure functionality, efficiency, and usage so they meet organizational needs and requirements. The senior space and furnishings planner is responsible for the management and facilitation of space and accommodation planning. This includes site moves including planning and managing logistics associated with new accommodations, special project planning, furnishing specifications, layout planning, and procurement in collaboration with all levels of Covenant Health, Alberta Infrastructure, community and external partners. The senior planner acts as the primary planning liaison with clinical staff, and government bodies. They will coordinate engagement with clinical teams, and external consultants as well as support consultation and stakeholder engagement processes, ensuring needs and requirements are clearly articulated.

Description:

The senior space & furnishing planner is responsible for managing department space requirements in alignment with functional program plans. This role plans and coordinates all required moves, creates and recommends room and furniture layouts, and reviews all drawings to ensure effective space utilization. The senior planner prepares and distributes relevant documentation such as workplans and organizes/chairs meetings to facilitate both internal and external project work with stakeholders as needed. The senior planner ensures requests are properly tracked, documented, coordinated, and executed in the required time frame with all impacted end users and partners as required. Additional responsibilities involve assessing departmental impacts, developing and maintaining project schedules, and maintaining inventory of surplus furniture as required. The senior planner is expected to manage planning risks, constraints, and opportunities, including change-of-use, and phasing. The senior planner will present feedback and make recommendations based on consultations, develop project scopes, obtain required quotes, schedule and oversee all related work and contractors, ensure the schedule is maintained for all required relocations and renovations, as it pertains to space and furniture. The senior planner needs to possess the ability to influence at senior levels and work collaboratively across disciplines as well as possess strategic thinking combined with practical problem-solving. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Post secondary diploma or degree in interior design technology, architectural technology, planning, health services management, or related discipline. 4-6 years of related work experience ie: project management, project coordination, related healthcare experience.
