Description:
The Rural & IEN Practice Lead is accountable for providing specialized clinical expertise and leadership for internationally educated nurses enabling optimal functioning within a variety of service areas with an emphasis on rural. Working in collaboration, the IEN Practice Lead provides the clinical expertise for recruitment and onboarding, including but not limited to interviewing, matching, orientation, and integration. This includes designing, delivering, and enhancing orientation and training programs, guiding and coaching staff, and assessing and building skills and knowledge. The position coordinates with operational leaders and IENs predominantly in the rural setting to act as a resource for clinical staff and other educators to provide consultation and direction in aspects of IEN community integration, registration processes, orientation, clinical mentorship, and patient/resident care within the scope of their practice. The incumbent will also serve as the key lead for rural acute professional practice within the rural sites which includes providing best practice support and facilitating connections. In this position, you will also lead and inform the development and dissemination of practice standards, recommendations, and procedures for consideration by Covenant Health teams; Monitor current environmental and organizational trends to identify risks and challenges and recommend strategies to navigate them, e.g., regularly reviews activity reporting, quality dashboards; Develop and maintain trusting, positive relationships with front-line teams, operational managers, and external partners; Contribute to highly effective teams with a strong commitment to quality, improvement, and patient care focus; Effectively influence organizational decision making without having positional authority, amongst other responsibilities. A bachelor’s degree in a related Health Sciences field is required with appropriate licensure and designation with relevant regulatory bodies, e.g., CRNA. A minimum of 5 years’ current acute care experience- three (3) of which were as a front-line health care provider and two (2) of which were as a clinical educator or team lead in a health service organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience leading interdisciplinary teams on large, complex projects and an interest in mentoring team members. Proven analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries. Proven ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships across jurisdictions both internal & external to the organization. Ability to work with a range of personalities. Strong leadership, and team building skills. Excellent presentation skills (planned and ad-hoc). Forward thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience representing a department or organization at the zone and/or provincial level. Certification in Adult Learning. Certification and/or experience in project management. Certification (Prosci) and/or experience in Change Management.
