Your Opportunity:
Are you an exceptional project manager with a flair for stakeholder collaboration and special events planning? Are you passionate about non-profit delivery of health care services? Does start-up of an innovative health care education program sound appealing? If so, this may be your ideal opportunity. Christian Health Association of Alberta (CHAA) is looking for a Project and Events Coordinator for CHAA’s provincial operations. In this fast-paced environment, the Coordinator will work alongside our Program Director to manage the planning, logistics, workflows, milestones, documentation, and stakeholder engagement related to a new province-wide educational program for Health Care Aides. You’ll manage an online information portal and work closely with CHAA’s member organizations, educational institutions, and clinical regulators to support the launch of this innovative program. A second key role will be to work with CHAA’s conference manager and member organizations to plan and deliver CHAA’s annual continuing care conference. This role requires exceptional planning and project management skills as you help attract keynote speakers, presenter abstracts, and corporate sponsors while supporting the team in areas such as program scheduling, maintaining delegate lists, and event marketing and communications. About CHAA: CHAA is an 82-year-strong provincial association of non-profit continuing care and assisted living providers, including Covenant Health, that plays a leading role in modernizing Alberta’s continuing care system. More information can be found at www.cha-ab.ca. Note this position is administered by Covenant Health, including a comprehensive salary and benefits package, and seconded to CHAA via a service agreement. This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements.
Description:
Reporting jointly to the Executive Director and Program Director of CHAA, the Project and Events Coordinator will collaborate with CHAA member organizations and our post-secondary partner to schedule and manage student intake, learner orientation, curriculum program delivery and project evaluation activities. You’ll manage the program’s online information repository, track progress and timelines, ensure deliverables are met, support the recording of financial disbursements, and prepare documentation for reporting to funders and regulators. Importantly, you’ll play an essential role in stakeholder communication, collaboration and team building as we co-design and implement an exciting new education and workforce retention project across Alberta. You’ll also play an essential role in CHAA conference organization and management. Working with our conference manager and communications team, you’ll develop GANTT charts, monitor progress, communicate with keynote speakers and VIPS, track revenue and expenditures, and develop timelines and milestones for conference marketing, promotion and sponsorship activities. You’ll contribute to managing the event budget including sponsorship and delegate revenues, event expenses, and margins. The role requires strong communication, collaboration and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders, partners, priorities and timelines. This is a temporary full-time, non-unionized position for a one-year term with the possibility of extension after one year. The position and responsibilities can be reduced to a 0.8 FTE position upon request.
