Your Opportunity:

Women's and Child Health is seeking a strong candidate to support the MCH site programs. Working alongside the Program Managers, this temporary position supports all Unit Managers, Educators, and program initiatives requiring administrative support. Women's and Child Health includes labor and delivery, postpartum, neonatal intensive care, and the child health clinics. Each of these clinical services includes highly specialized programs which the successful candidate will support. Routine tasks include managing calendars, room bookings, agenda creation and minute taking, equipment and supply ordering, and general office management. In addition to these tasks, this position requires coordination of program specific services including neonatal resuscitation training, event planning as needed, tracking staff certifications across all programs, and (but not limited to) financial record keeping for foundation funded initiatives. Due to the competing priorities and high demands of this position, the successful candidate will be highly organized, take initiative to keep people and records on track, highly intuitive, and collaborative. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work well with others, communicate effectively, take initiative, troubleshoot, and demonstrate effective discernment to determine priorities and take action. The Secretary II provides advanced level administrative support. The Secretary II performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-2 years previous experience in a secretary or administrative position required. Expert use of Microsoft office including teams. Familiar with SharePoint. Previous use of Oracle. Ability to work in a high traffic area with multiple interruptions. Ability to lift, move, adjust weights of over 50 lbs. Ability to reach overhead, or bend low. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Strong communication skills and ability to get along well with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

2-5 years secretary or administrative assistant experience. Previous program coordination experience.
