Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurse of Alberta (CRPNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications:At least three (3) years recent, related Surgical nursing experience is required including experience taking charge. AHNs on Unit 41 will require IMCU/ICU or related critical care training and experience of at least 1 year within the last 5 years. Must be able to independently take a patient assignment as required and respond to a code blue or rapid response. Must stand for long periods and walk for a good portion of the shift. Regularly required to lift in excess of ten (10) pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:Must be proficient working in a computerized environment including MS Office Suite. Must be flexible, tactful with a positive reinforcement style and excellent conflict resolution skills. Must have very good communication skills (written and verbal). Must be self-motivated, self-directed and able to implement resolutions: must have excellent problem solving skills.
